Unit 6 Famous stories The 5st period Content: Part C,D, F Teaching aims: Using comparatives and superlatives with long adjectives to talk about characters. 1. Key points and difficult points: Monkey King is the interesting funniest character. 2. She is more exciting than Cinderella. Teaching aids: CAI, real objects, pictures ,tape recorder, ect. Procedures: Step1 Organization 1. Free talk. 2. Revision. 1) Ask and answer in pairs about Part B2 and B3. 2) Retell the story of Part B2 and Part B3. Step2 Teach Part C 1. Point to the pictures. Ask the students if they know the story of Nuwa mending the sky. Explain that it is Chinese mythology. It is said that Nuwa created animals and human beings. Nuwa also saved hum an being by filling the grap in the sky and hence stopped the flood. 2. Play the cassette for the students and ask them to say the sentences after the cassette. Step3 Teach Part D Read C again. Then answer the questions. 1. Ask the students to read the story again and answer the questions about the story. 2. Check the answers with the students. Step4 Read the symbols and say the words. 1. Write the symbols for the sounds on the board. Write the words on the page under each symbol. Ask the students to tell other words with the same sounds and add them to the list. 2. Play the cassette and ask the students to listen. 3. Ask the students to listen to the words and then write them under the correct symbols. Step5 Homework 1. Copy the new sentences three times. 2. Do workbook P46.
