English Presentation English presentation speech T：Hello everyone! We are the students from Germany. My English name is Tom, and hers is Cecilia. Today we are doing this presentation for you, to compete the chance to go into space. First, I will let all of you know us. C：First of all, we are outstanding. We are the best students in our school. T：Second, we like experiments. I do experiments in home, and Cecilia likes to join in experiments from teachers. C：Also, we are creative and responsible, so we can do the experiments in the space well. T：We can do teamwork well—that is important! C: We want to show we are the best! We can do some experiment that many student in the middle school want to see. T: We are going to do better and better, we will do the best to show our ability. So, we are going to compete the chance for teenagers to go into space! C: Now I’ll introduce our homeland—Germany. Our motherland---Germany is a developed country and it has strong economy, although it doesn’t has a long history as China. It is an important member of European Union (also one of the early members). T: With the great economy, we can use better spaceship than some others, and with the good quality in our blood, we can do our experiment better and better. C: That is our spaceship. Our spaceship is transformed from the spaceship “Phoenix”. Because of the program, Germany designers (and us) design this spaceship to us. “Phoenix” is a European spaceship which is advanced. T: That is our design of the spaceship. We prepare a big room for experiment, and also a clean room for showing the culture, which contained lots of pictures and many things about Germany. Everything (like tables) is fixed. C: There are some great technologies in the spaceship: Virtual reality machine、Big clearly screen (in culture corner, control cabin and experiment module)、Soft sleeping bag、Special table for writing and so on. These things are needed in the experiment. T: Then we are going to introduce our experiment. On Earth, things with less density always go up. So when the candle is lit, it warms the air beside. And the density of hot air is less than that of cold air, so the hot air goes up, and this is why the candle flame seems to go up. However, in space, because of weightlessness, things with less density do not go up. So what would candle flame be like in space? Will it be shaped like a ball? We would wait and see. C: In space, it’s a good chance to verifying the law of universal gravitation. We can measure the period of our spaceship, and use the figure to calculate the height of our space ship, and compare it to the facts. If they are identical, we verify the law of universal gravitation. There are the formulas of this experiment. T: On Earth, the atmosphere can protect us from the universe ray, such as α-ray, β-ray, and γ-ray. But in space, without the atmosphere, the universe ray is very strong. We can use a machine to detect the ray both on Earth and in space during our 3-day journey, so we can know how much universe ray the atmosphere have protected from us. C: We are going to show the national flag of Germany, European Union’s flag and the United Nations flag. 1 English Presentation We will also show the picture about 1972 Olympic Game & 2006 World Cup to show the important of our motherland. T: We are going to show something (like football) that can show the culture of Germany by the virtual reality screen. We will also show the picture about famous people from Germany—like Goethe.
