20世纪60年代，互联网作为一种新兴的传播工具被带进了军事与教育领域，在随后的20年时间里，渐渐扩大、越来越走进现实生活，直至成为当今社会不可或缺的网络。网络加强了与社会的联接，更丰富了人们的视野，让我们了解到千里之外的人与事；在网上我们可以聊天，玩游戏，查阅东西，更重要的是还可以进行广告宣传和购物，它给我们的现实生活带来很大的方便；同时，网络作为一种超大的数据库，更能满足我们在学业，事业上的需要，从而帮助我们工作与学习。 众所周知，在我们的学习和工作中，网络占据我们绝大部分的时间。方便了我们的生活，却也逐渐的让我们远离生活。我们常常宁愿与手机里的陌生人交流，也不愿意与旁边坐着的亲友说句话。我们给自己营造了一种很忙碌的感觉，可是内心依然感到空虚和孤独，而这种感觉又促使我们更加的迷恋网络社交带给我们的短暂的满足。这是一种恶性循环，我们将越来越难以自拔，所以有的人说，这是一种精神鸦片。是什么导致了这样的结果？ 在我看来，现代社会的变化是主要原因。我们生活在核心家庭单位, 通常生活在远离我们的大家庭和朋友的大距离, 我们越来越依赖社会技术而不是面对面互动被认为是使我们感到更加孤立。这意味着我们感觉与他人的联系不那么多, 我们的人际关系变得更加肤浅, 更不值得。其次现在的人们面临着各种各样的压力。我们不知道该如何去缓解这些压力。这时在网络上，人们可以找到心灵的安慰，暂时忘记眼前的烦恼，找到心灵的一片净土。而现实与虚拟的世界差距很大，很容易让人沉迷。还有就是我们都是脆弱的，我们都害怕孤独。在网络上我们能认识很多来自天南地北的人。因为我们面对的是陌生人，我们不会有顾虑。所以能够畅所欲言，这样会有一种满足感。 网络社交是一把双刃剑，使用权全在你我手中。我们应该把握好分寸，不要成为它的傀儡。虚拟代替不了现实。现实即使残酷，可是真实。美梦再真，终有醒的一天。多关注身边的人，留点时间和空间给他们，回到现实中去。 Are We More Connected Or More Alone? The Fourth Industrial Revolution has made us more connected and globalized than ever before, and yet it is also shaping an age of civic disengagement. The dilemma of loneliness and solitude have never been imposed with such sharpness as it is today. Social media are creating an illusion of humanity adaptation when the casual usage of this technology turns into addiction, individuals cannot connect with their close ones and themselves. As a consequence, they become more alone than ever. Accordingly why are we getting lonelier? From my own perspective, converts in contemporary society are considered to be the main trigger. We live in nuclear family units, often living large distances away from our extended family and friends, and our growing reliance on social technology rather than face to face interaction is thought to be making us feel more isolated. It means we feel less contact with others and our relationships are becoming more superficial and less rewarding. Second, characters now face a variety of pressures. We don't know how to relieve these pressures. At this time on the network, citizen can find the comfort of the soul and temporarily forget the current troubles. But The difference between the real world and the virtual world is great, it is easy to let people indulge. And we are all fragile, we are all afraid of loneliness. We can know an army of folks from far apart on the Internet. As we are confronted with strangers, we will not be apprehensive. Consequently we can assert without any restraint. This will have a sense of satisfaction. Networking is a double-edged sword, and the right to use is all in your hands. We should grasp the discretion and not be the puppet of networking. The network will never replace the reality The reality is even cruel, but true. The dream is true again, and there is a waking day.
