Jane Eyre ------ A Real Feminist Jane was a heroin of Charlotte Bronte’s novel Jane Eyre. It is the best character that will stay in my mind forever. The publication of this novel arose overwhelming influence on the society. The novel brings me the most beautiful love story, but the deepest impression Jane gives to me is her strong-will, her resistance and her brave mind with full feminism opinion. This novel focus on her feminism by analyzing her encountered and opposed four men’s oppression and pursuit equality of women and men in her every stage of life. As a little girl, Jane was lodged in her uncle’s home Gateshesd and was always bullied by her cousin John Reed after her uncle’s death. Jane had an instinct for feminism though she was a little girl. When everyone in Gateshead couldn’t stand Jane’s rebellion spirit, they send her to Lowood School where Jane again defend her self-esteem and desired to be equally treated by opposing to the headmaster of this school, Mr.Brocklehurst. This period was the main stage of the development of her feminism. Later, Jane grew up as a lady and wanted to explore the new life for herself. So she came to Thronfield Hall and acted as a governess for a little girl. In Thronfield, Jane met her lover, Edward Rochester who was superior over her in many aspects. But Jane was bravely declare her love to him and when she heard that Rochester’s wife was alive, she quietly left her lover in order to keep her dignity and her rights. This showed Jane pursued equal love and marriage. Jane left Thronfield and lived a very hard life. One day she was saved by St. John Rivers who was another man oppressed Jane and wanted control her spirit. Again Jane defended him and deserved her right successfully. This novel successfully depicts a intelligent, faithful and brave woman who has the courage to revolt and strive for equality. Jane holds its remarkable status in the history of British literature and even become one of the most famous novel in the world. Jane Eyre is one of the best novels I have ever read and also is one of the masterpieces of Charlotte Bronte one hundred years ago. It proved to the world of the 1800’s that the idea of a woman to become independent and successful on her own was not a unrealizable dream. Having analyzing Jane’s persevere in opposing oppression and standing up for her equality step by step，We can see Jane’s strong call for feminism. The principle method Jane chose was pursuing the equality of social status, love and marriage, and spirit and morality. She didn’t belittle herself at all for her poor family, her lower social status, and her plain appearance and little figure.
