“新课标”与《新概念》 潞河中学外语教研室 王振龙 《新概念英语》一至三册教材在我国的中学英语教学中被较为广泛地使用着，是英语必修课程的经典辅助教材。其优点早已有专家学者点评过，自然用不着我再赘述。我要谈论的话题是：在中学实施新的课程标准的今天如何按着新课程的标准和理念使用《新概念英语》教材？ 要回答这一问题，就要首先弄清楚“新课标”的标准和理念是怎么一回事。按照基础教育阶段英语课程分级总体目标的要求，新课程标准对语言技能、语言知识、情感态度、学习策略和文化意识等五个方面分别提出了相应的具体内容标准，其中对语言技能中的听、说、读、写四个技能提出九个级别的目标要求 (根据学生生理和心理特点以及他们的认知发展水平和情感需要，在一级、二级提出了更为具体的语言技能目标要求)；对语言知识中的语音、语法、词汇、功能和话题提出二级、五级和八级的目标要求；对情感态度、学习策略和文化意识也提出了二级、五级和八级的目标要求（“新课标”（实验稿））。 总体来看“新课标”与以往的“中学英语教学大纲”相比，增加了对学生情感态度、学习策略和文化意识的目标要求。而在语言知识、技能方面的要求基本保持了“大纲”的目标内容，只是难易度有所调整而已。 鉴于新课程标准三方面的内容变化，在中学使用《新概念英语》教材时就要把新课程的理念溶入到课程的设计当中去，这样才能做到与时俱进，使《新概念英语》永葆青春活力。 目前国内各英语培训机构在“新概念”课程设计方面普遍以老师的控制为主，甚至是以老师海阔天空的谈吐为亮点。受此影响，中学内的“新概念英语”课程也是以老师为中心的。而这一切是与“新课标”格格不入的。社会上的各类英语培训机构是一种短平快的商业行为，可能违背语言教学规律和原则，以实现利益最大话为目的。但正规学校不应该这样做，课程设计一定要以“新课标“为依据。 如何在新概念英语课程设计中体现出“新课标”的标准和理念呢？我个人的体会是，一定要坚持两个原则。一是关注学生情感、发展学生的学习策略、培养学生文化意识；二是在教学过程中要以活动和任务为主线，以学生为主体。下面以《新概念英语》第二册第1课为例，对以上两原则做一个具体应用。 A private conversation (课的设计) Step 1. New words and expressions A. Ask if someone is able to read aloud all the words. Find a volunteer to be a leader to read aloud. B. Instead of talking about the words and word formations of the words, present the students the following task: Can you work out the required forms of words? (Students can talk and use dictionaries or electronic products.) 1.private ______________ (n.) 2.attention ____________(adj.) 3.angry _____________(n.) 4.bear _______________(syn.) 5.rudely ____________(adj.) 6.seat _____________ (adj.) Step 2. Pre-reading Ask the class the question “How do you feel if your classmates talk aloud by your desk while you are busy working on your maths problems?” (This question is to let the class think about such a situation and how they feel in such a case.) Then another simple question follows: “What will you do then?” Step 3. Reading Teacher introduces the title and main idea of the story in lesson one very briefly. Then allow the students the time to read the passage fast. Then, use the questions in the Teacher’s book to see how well the students can understand the story. Step 4. Post-reading Students are to discuss in groups of 4 the following questions: 1) Do you think this story is a humorous story? 2) In what places do you think people should not talk loudly? 3) Did you ever visit a foreign country? What is impressive to you? Step 5. Writing task (Can be an assignment) Ss are asked to write a passage based on today’s reading and discussion. The topic should be related to “Private” or ”Privacy”. Students should express their feelings or attitudes. 以上设计淡化了教师的单向灌输，突出教师的引导作用和学生的主动参与机会。同时注意让学生动脑主动构建知识和思维网络，有利于培养他们的学习策略。学生的情感和价值观也在说和写的过程中得以展示。总之，我认为这应该是《新概念英语》课程在“新课标”指导下的设计思路。愿意与广大同仁进一步探讨。 单位名称：北京市通州区潞河中学 单位地址：北京市通州区新城南关31号 本文来源：https://www.dywdw.cn/29947ab0482fb4daa48d4b67.html
