Such a prevailing phenomenon leads to so serious waste that it has aroused people’s wide concern and strong criticism. There are various reasons accounting for excessive packaging. For one thing, an increasing number of companies and stores hold the idea that fancy packaging may attract potential customers and motivate their purchasing desire, thus earning more profits. For another, many customers have a wrong notion that the more delicate the package looks, the better quality the commodity will be, which encourage the evil trend of excessive packaging. In addition, the prevailing phenomenon is party due to the lack of related laws and regulations and strict enforcement of them. In my opinion, excessive packaging will not only waste the precious resources, but also lay heavier burden on the environment. Therefore, people should realize the importance of rational consumption and saving resources. 二． Should the University Campus Be Open to Tourists? 1. 2. 3. 名校校园正成为旅游新热点 校园是否应对游客开放，人们看法不同 我认为…… Currently, campuses of many famous universities are becoming one of the popular tourist attractions. It is reported that more and more people enjoy their holidays by visiting famous universities, such as Tsinghua University and Peking University. This phenomenon has exerted heated debates concerning whether university campus should be open to tourists. They indicate that people’s opinions vary in a big way. Some people believe that it is a good thing to open university campus to tourists while others argue that it is not. Personally speaking, I’m in favor of campus tourism. For one thing, tourists may derive lots of enjoyment from the beautiful scenes of famous universities. For another, the strong academic atmosphere may motivate tourists, particularly students, to work hard and persevere with their dreams. Moreover, for famous universities, being open to tourists may serve as an effective approach to attract talents from all over the country. Some people believe that online shopping has many advantages because it is beneficial to consumers and retailers alike in more than one way. For consumers, it is time- and energy- saving to purchase whatever they want over the Internet with much lower prices. For retailers, they can save much cost without having to rent a store in the downtown and spending much on employees compared with traditional market sales. However, other people argue that we cannot turn a blind eye to its advantages. For one thing, lack of face-to-face communication makes online shopping less reliable and trustworthy. For another, some dishonest merchants may provide false information, which renders it time-consuming to identify the commodity. From my perspective, the benefits of online shopping do outweigh its defects, and to refuse too bind the online trading activities.
