It’s Not So Easy Being Male In spite of quite a few advantages for being men, but there are still some disadvantages throughout their lives. Men are pushed into the role of provider for their families, and their identity lies in his work. Due to the fact that our culture expects a man to earn more money, his salary is often connected to his self-esteem. The identification of self and the pressure to make money make man have less tome to spend with their families. Additionally, our stereotypes of masculinity portray men as brave, strong, self-reliant, and our society requires them to be tough and competitive, both of which can be stressful for men for they cannot express feelings at liberty. Finally, men's average life span is shorter than women's. The proper reasons for that are as follows: pressure from family, dangerous activities, unhealthy habits, and more importantly the male hormones which will increase the chance of heart attacks.
