Telling China's Stories in English ----深圳南山区 Nanshan district is in the west of Shenzhen. It covers an area of 187.47 square kilometres. Its population is more than 1,490,000. Lily has lived here for more than twenty years. She has witnessed the changes of Nanshan district. In the past, there was an old and crowded village near her home. In 2009, the village disappeared. People built many new buildings here. Lily used to study in a primary school in her neighborhood. It was closed down and rebuilt two years ago. The new school is much better than the old one. Today pupils take lessons in a bigger classroom and play in a larger playground. Lily used to go to the Window of the World with her parents during the holidays. Now she has more choice, because there are some new parks like Shenzhen Talent Park in Nanshan district.
