An impressive lesson Last week, we went to learn farming. It was really an impressive lesson to me. Before going there, we were all looking forward to it because it provided us a chance to have a brief break from the keen study competition. However, when we get there, our enthusiasm were dampened by the hard living conditions----the small shaking buck beds, the cement floor covered with heavy dust, all of them let us down. Especially the deafening noise of the airplane made us go mad. However, our instructor who is the same age as us took it as usual. He then told us his hard experiences in the army. ’After joining the army, you are no longer yourself. No freedom, no human rights.’ He said. Sometimes you failed to finish training, as a result of which, you won’t be offered meal. Sometimes, you run too slowly, and then the punishment may be crouching for hours. When they practiced dressing right, their instructor just stood in front of them, slapping their face. If you fail to dress right fast enough, you will be hit. His talk gave me an impressive lesson on life. Although we are at the same age, he has already started his career and lived on his own while I can’t. We kept complaining about the heavy homework, the hard living condition, the pressure of study, but compared with his suffering, it’s just a walk in the park.
