My inspiring cultural hero- Monkey King-孙悟空（建议用中文发音） Good morning/ afternoon, Ladies and gentlemen. I am XXX. Today I would like to talk about my inspiring cultural hero: the monkey king-孙悟空。 Maybe you would say, monkey king is not a cultural hero. But I think he is. He’s not the person who create the culture, but he is in(建议停顿强调in这个单词) the culture, which makes our culture a little bit different. Monkey King is the hero of many people, including me. Here are two main sparkling points in Monkey King which inspire me a lot. First, is, his sense of justice. I admire him not just because of this sense, more importantly, his way to uphold his justice. His justice doesn’t have compromises, only simply right or wrong. If you are a demon/monster, he will fight against you, regardless of your background, even sometimes against his master Tangseng’s order. We can see this clear in the story of “Three Hits to the White Bone Demon.” He knew, it’s the innocent person’s body with demon hidden inside, he didn’t choose the mercy. He holds the belief that the demon needs to be killed. It’s his justice. Who can be more pure like him? How many people can uphold the justice like him? Another spark is his persistence. As I said before, he insists his own justice, it’s also kind of persistence. More to see from the story, he is the first company of master Tangseng, and the only one who never gives up or runs away from the difficulties. Monkey King is the main support in his group, the heaviest burden for fighting with demons is on him. Even though, he seems to take care of the whole group from the danger, he overcomes all and makes it to the end. It’s just like a long run but he takes more effort on it. Some people will give up when they feel tired, me, sometimes as well. I need to think more about this cute monkey, he spent few years with 81 main difficulties before he get to meet with the Budda.
