1.定义 definition 粤语是一种属汉藏语系汉语族的声调语言。粤语（Cantonese）是发源于北方的中原雅言（汉族母语）而于秦汉时期传播至两广地区与当地古越语相融合产生的一种方言，同时也是在香港、澳门占有主导地位的方言，民间称白话或广东话。 Cantonese is a kind of Han tone language belonged to Sino-Tibetan language family。It originated from ancient Chinese plains YaYan which is a mother language of Han Ethnic groups in north china, and in the Qin and Han Dynasty it spread to Guangdong and Guangxi region,then combined with the local ancient Yue language to produce a new dialect — Cantonese. Cantonese is the dialect of a dominant position in HongKong, Macau, civil society, said the Cantonese vernacular or Cantonese. 粤语 1.粤语是中国七大方言之一（北方方言，吴方言，湘方言，赣方言，客家方言，闽方言，粤方言），是一种最有特色的方言。它的名称来源于中国古代岭南地区的“南越国”。粵語，又称为广东话、广府话、白话、唐话。目前，全世界各地粤语使用人数超过7000万，约占汉族人口的5％。虽然使用人口比汉语少，但粤语的使用地区非常广泛。粤语不仅在海外华人社区被广泛使用，而且支持着以香港文化及南粤文化为中心的粤语文化，这使得粤语具有很强的影响力和生命力。可以说粤语是目前世界上有较强生命力的语言之一。 使用区域主要分布在以广州为中心的珠江三角洲地区、广东省大部份地区、广西的东南部以及港澳地区和海外华人聚居地。 广东话视不同地区而略有口音的差别，然而，广东话与普通话和其他方言的差异极大，非广东话使用区的人一般听不懂。 Cantonese，an unique dialect，is One of the seven major Chinese dialects，its name comes from an ancient country "NaYueGuo" located in lingnan area of china. It is also known as 广东话、广府话、白话、唐话. Cantonese is a kind of Han tone language belonged to Sino-Tibetan language family。 At present,there are more than 70 million Cantonese speakers all over the world, accounting for about 5% of the population of Han nationality. Although Cantonese speakers are less than Chinese speakers，the region of Cantonese—speaking is very extensive。Cantonese is not only the mother tongue of most people residing in Hong Kong,Macao,most part of Guangdong Province and the southeastern Guangxi Province, but also widely spoken in the overseas Chinese community, such as Singapore,Malaysia, Vietnam, Chinatown of USA, which makes Candonese has a strong influence and vitality in the world. Cantonese accent have slight differences in different areas,and Guangzhou accent is regarded as the standard pronunciation。 2.粤语直接来源于古汉语，其形成和发展大致经历下列时期：秦汉时期，粤语脱离母体；魏晋南北朝时期，粤语迅速发展；唐代，粤语日渐成熟；宋代，粤语与中原汉语的差异越来越大，基本上独立；元明清时期，粤语形成自己的特色，完全独立。 Cantonese directly originated from the ancient Chinese plains YaYan which is a mother language of Han Ethnic groups in northern china。With similar to other dialects，the formation and development of Cantonese is a long process. During the Qin and Han Dynasties, Cantonese separated itself from its mother ancient Chinese ; during Jin and southern and Northern Dynasties period,Cantonese had a rapid development ; by the Tang and Song Dynasty, Cantonese became more mature; the difference between Chinese and Cantonese was more and more obvious, Cantonese basically independed; and during Yuan Ming and Qing Dynasties, Cantonese had formed its own characteristics, and became completely independed. 3.Cantonese characteristics • Without turbidity plug initials(无浊塞声母) • Tone up to 9: flat up various points of Yin and Yang, Yin tone (from GuQingYin initials) and Yang tone (from ancient voiced) match neat, ru tone 3(声调多达9个：平上去各分阴阳，阴调(来自古清音声母)和阳调(来自古浊音)相配整齐，入声3个) • Even reading, but there is no obvious tone sandhi rich semantics (连读变调不明显，但有丰富的语义变调) • One-syllable ancient word more(单音节古词较多) • In grammar, classifier can separately and the noun phrases, constitutes a quantity name(语法方面量词可单独与名词构成量名短语). • From early 19 century to now, it has published many dictionaries of the Yue dialect, including academic ones and less encyclopedia ,such as dictionary of Hong Kong. Cantonese Opera is a traditional Chinese art form that originated in southern China.It is singing in Cantonese and very popular in southern China.
