Smoking Smoking is a holt topic in the world. Many people is somking, and many people dying because of moking. Although many people know smoking is harmful to human’s body, they begin to smoking. Many people have a kind of harmful view. They think smoking have many good side. They feel more relaxed after smoke. Also some artist and author think smoking can give them inspiration. It can make them make more meaningful work. Some social teenagers smoke in order to deck on them. Make they looked more smartness and maturity. Some poeple think somking is bad for heath. They tell us smoking is not only bad for smokers’ heath but also bad for other’s health who usually stay around them. Secondhand somking is also bad for our health. For enviroment, smoking is also a great cause of air pollution. In my opinion, somking is really a kind of way to reduce our pressure. But is also bad for human’s health. We should search for the balance between them. In 1858,a French engineer,Aime Thome de Gamond,arrived in England with a plan for a twenty-one-mile tunnel under the English Channel.He said that it would be possible to build a platform in the centre of the Channel.This platform would serve as a port and a railway station.The tunnel would be well-ventilated if tall chimneys were built above sea level.In 1860,a better plan was put forward by an Englishman,William Low.He suggested that a double railway tunnel should be built.This would solve the problem of ventilation,for if a train entered this tunnel,it would draw in fresh air behind it.Forty-two years later a tunnel was actually begun.If,at the time,the British had not feared invasion,it would have been completed.The world had to wait almost another 100 years for the channel tunnel.it was officially opened on march 7,1994,finally connecting Britain to the European continent. 本文来源：https://www.dywdw.cn/9024e7115022aaea988f0f64.html
