Students’ linguistic sensitivity and creativity are cultivated through such drills as texts adapting and abridging, independent phrasal and sentene translating, and simplified novel reading. A comprensive independent English learning strategy is initiated and exercised in this course, and a solid linguistic preparation is laid for a higher level study.
