亚洲黑熊（Asiatic black bear) 一、features:This species is similar in size and appearance to the American black bears,although the fur is longer ,soft and shaggy.Adult males weigh from 200 to 255 pounds (92-116kg.)and adult females weigh between 110 and 225 pounds (50-102kg.)The Asiatic black bear is an excellent tree climber,as are most of the bear species.Its predominantly herbivorous diet resembles that of its American cousin:plants,fruits,insects,bee’s nests and invertebrates are preferred foods. 二、habitat:Asiatic black bears are found in areas throughout southern Asia,from Afghanistan to the islands of Japan.They are throught to prefer mountainous areas and have been found at elevation of 10000 feet (over 3000 meters)during summer months. They habitat in many countries of the world. They live in rainforests of 600 meters above sea level. In China,there are about 20 provinces which Asiatic black bears live in. 三、Population:The population of Asiatic black bears in the world has declined steadily,due to loss of habitats and the harvesting of their bile and body parts. It is estimated that there are about 1000-1500 head in Heilongjiang,Jilin and Liaoning. Jiangxi,Fujian,Guangdong,Anhui and Zhejiang have about 8200-12500 head.But now,the population of Asiatic black bear are reducing.Wild populations of Asiatic black bear in China was estimated at 12000-18000,the highest estimate is only 20000 head. 四、Threat:There are about thousands of Asiatic black bear was hunted by people every year,in order to obtain their fur,gall bladder,bear paws and other parts of the body which are sold to Chinese medicine and food markets.Seriously, many Asiatic black bears are locked in the cage to obtain their bile which is a good traditional Chinese medicine. 五、Protect:In the majority of countries,Asiatic black bears are classified as a protected species.In China,the animals had been included in the secondary protection of animals .However,there are still many countries hunting Asiatic black bear,like Japan ,Korea etc.Some governments did not take protective measures,so the population of Asiatic black bear are reducing rapidly. 六、Future:It is hard to say how Asiatic black bear’s future shall be.The Asiatic black bears will continue to reduce if people and governments does not pay attention to them and have not protective measures.I think we should cherish and care for these animals, giving them a good living environment, or some day, they will disappear in the world. 本文来源：https://www.dywdw.cn/a500625a55270722192ef756.html
