上海世博园以“城市，让生活更美好”为主题，凝聚着人类对城市建设的卓越智慧，展示了人类对未来生活的美好憧憬。现在，我们欢聚在上海世博园，共同观赏创意型、独特的场馆展示，感受丰富多彩的科技成果，参与充满睿智的各种论坛，欣赏引人入胜的文艺活动，一定能够在平安和谐中享受成功，在创意活力中感受精彩，在快乐温馨中定格难忘，全方位体现人类对文明进步的不懈追求和共同探索。

一切始于世博会，一切汇聚世博园。让我们共同见证中国2010年上海世博园的荣耀。

Now, I invite His Excellency Mr. Jia Qinglin, Chairperson of the

National Committee of the China’s Political Consultative Conference to make remarks.

Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, today marks the grand opening of the site of Expo 2010 Shanghai China. At this exciting moment, I wish to express, on behalf of the organizer, heartfelt

thanks to the participants, the International Expositions Bureau and all those who have contributed to the preparations of the Expo. I would also like to extend a warm welcome to all the distinguished guests from around the world.

Built around the theme of “Better City, Better Life”, the Shanghai Expo site epitomizes human ingenuity for urban development and crystallizes mankind’s vision for a better life. This is a joyful occasion. We will have the opportunity to admire the unique designs of the pavilions and displays, explore a rich variety of scientific feats, participate in inspirational forums, and enjoy fascinating cultural events. We will experience a successful expo of peace and harmony, marvel at the splendid array of innovations and capture the

unforgettable moments of joy and love, fully appreciating the progress of civilization that mankind is forever and together pursuing.

Everything starts with the World Expo, and all things come together at the Expo site. Let us now witness the splendor of the opening of the site of Expo 2010 Shanghai China. Thank you.
