1．On the Internet 1 Nowadays, the Internet is playing an increasing important role in our life. We can use it for different kinds of purposes. The advantage of Internet which we can take of can be listed as follows. To start with, the Internet can provide us with a variety of news and information. It keeps us informed of the news from home and abroad conveniently. We can get almost all kinds of information needed. Besides, we can use it for communication,. For instance, not only can we use it to send e-mail, but also we can call others through Internet if we have not a telephone on hand. Moreover, Internet is also a means of entertainment. For instance, we can enjoy music, watch sport matches and play chess or cards. Last but not the least, there are so many on-line schools and on-line books on the Internet packed with lots of information that we can read them without even leaving your home…… In a word, the Internet has made our life more colorful and convenient as well. 2 现在很多高中生利用节假日深入到社区参加社会实践。请你就此谈谈你的看法和体会。 Nowadays, many Senior school students are participating in the neighborhood’s activities by taking advantage of their summer vacations , weekends or holidays to devote themselves to the society/to serve the society. (The attitude to this varies from person to person. Some may think it is good for students to develop all around, while others argue that it is just a waste of time, insisting that students should spend more time on their study.)(中文提示中如没有该信息，这段话可以省略)。 As for me, / As far as I am concerned/ From my point of view/in my opinion, I am quite in favor of this phenomenon. Just take my experience for example. Last summer, .I acted as a volunteer in my neighborhood. I did a variety of jobs such as looking after the sick ,the old and the young; writing wall newspapers ;sorting and classifying papers and sometimes even helping to deal with conflicts and quarrels between neighbors. I really benefit a lot from these experiences. To begin with, I built up my personality of such virtues as unselfishness , the sense of responsibility as well as the sense of independence. What’s more important to me is that I was offered a chance to improve my ability to handle complicated problems properly. As mentioned above, such community activity definitely has a positive effect on us students. It serves as a bridge for students to keep in touch with society, thus getting them better prepared for the future when they really enter society. （3 ） Since there are girls and boys in each classroom, the communication with each other is inevitable. Then arises a problem: how shall we look at it? From my point of view, it’s quite a natural, common phenomena and there’s nothing wrong with it. My reasons are as follows. (I have every reason to support my opinion.) To begin with, the class is like a big family in which every student ,whether male or female ,is a member . And therefore it’s quite natural for girl students to communicate with boy students just like brothers and sisters. Moreover, proper communication can reduce conflicts and misunderstanding, thus promoting friendship. Finally, it is generally believed that girls are able to help make up for the boys’ lack of carefulness while boys are supposed to help girls solve some maths and physics problems. However, there is always the other side to the coin. Too much and close contact between them may bring about negative effect such as falling in love which may distract them from their study. Anyway, as long as students can develop a proper attitude toward the communication/contact between boy students and girl students instead of going to extreme, benefits will certainly outweigh harm. 4. The Role of Information in the modern Society With the development of our society, information begins to play a more and more important role in our life. When we want to buy something, we may turn to advertisements for some information. Before making a decision whether we shall go for a picnic or not, we also need to listen to the weather forecast to get some information about the weather. It is obvious that without information, life will be difficult for us. There are many ways to get information. Newspaper was and still is a popular means of getting information. Besides, some people choose to get information through radio and TV or even Tel-star. With the development of the Internet, computer is becoming a more popular way to get information, which makes it fast and convenient for people to be better informed There is no doubt that information will play a more and more important role in our future life. First it can help us spend least time doing the most things. Furthermore the modern means of communication make it possible for the whole world to be closer together than ever before, which I think is beneficial for the world peace.
