Different family educations have different effects on their children. In other words, family education is essential for children. There are three different aspects in family education between China and America - the purpose of studies, children’s independent abilities and their effects on children’s abilities in adapting to the society. Chinese and American family educations both emphasize on the purpose of studies but the purpose is different. The purpose of family education in China pays more attention to their children's grades. Most parents think getting high scores in subjects displays a good performance of their children’s studies, so most parents in China are very strict with their children. Besides, they also ask their children to develop other hobbies, such as playing piano, dancing and singing. However, in America, the purpose of family education is primarily cultivating children’s independent thinking abilities. Most parents respect their children's personal interests and choices. Just like Bill Gates, he didn't graduate from Harvard University because he was interested in the use of computer softwares, he dropped out from Harvard and devoted himself to developing the software. His parents also supported his choice. Unlike Chinese family education, the purpose of American family education mainly focus on the children's interests and developing their potentia. Besides, Chinese and American family educations also pay attention to the children's independent abilities but the methods that they train are different. Many Chinese children rely on their parents. Their parents think it is natural for them to rely on them before their children find a job. Because of lacking independent abilities, many college students don’t know how to look after themselves. It causes that many students who are outstanding in subjects can’t live independently, what is worse, their parents have to go to school to look after their children’s daily life. However, in America, many children earn their pocket money by doing housework or by selling newspapers in their early age. Since most of them have a part-time job, so they try not to depend on their family. Many college students in America can live a good life without their parents help. Thus, their personal independence may be stronger than Chinese children. Many American children always do what they can do as much as possible. Finally, Chinese and American family educations focus on the ability in adapting themselves to the society while the methods of parents do for children are not the same. For example, when their children face a problem, many American parents will encourage their children to solve it by themselves and believe they can do well. Or their parents just offer some help or just offer some solutions. It can make their children know how to solve the problem. Their parents provide such environment just let their children adapt to the society early. But it is opposite in China. most parents are willing to settle the problems for their children. If their parents don’t settle the problem for children, they will order their children to follow their solutions. Many parents think that they can help their children experience less setbacks. Maybe that is true. But experience is necessary, and what children need most is the praise of parents not the parents order to follow their own way. According to a long-term tracking survey by a Japanese science and technology agency, it shows that parents often praise children in their early age, the children's social adaptation abilities will be strong in the future. Different cultures have different family educations. Family education has a very important influence on their children and affect the children's life. As we all know. Family education includes many aspects, but the three most important aspects are the purpose of their children's studies, children's personal independence and children's ability in adapting on the society.
