UNIT ONE UNIT TWO Both the girl and the boy are excited/crazy about the movie and the hero Harry Potter. The boy heard that the writer J.K. Rowling has written the latest book, which is Book Seven, though the girl is still waiting for Book Five. The boy has been the trailer and believes the film will be scary. The girl shares that view because of the writing on the wall in blood. UNIT THREE Gilbert wants to go out with Sarah, but he is shy. His face is flaming red .So Henry believes that Gilbert has a crush on her.He suggests that Gilbert should not be a chicken and should tell her that he likes her. Seeing Gilbert still does not have the guts and worries that she may turn him down. Henry says letting her know is better than keeping everything to himself. Finally, Gilbert is still hesitating, not knowing how to tell her he likes her. UNIT FOUR The son wants to buy a pair of basketball shoes as his old ones look kind of funny. But the father thinks there is still a lot of life left in the old shoes. The son points out that in an ad Yao Ming claims that these shoes give him extra spring. The father, on the other hand, says that he does not make as much money as Yao Ming does, and that the tall man does not need extra spring. What’s more, the advertiser may give him millions of dollars for in the ad. To this the son answers jokingly that he would wearing the shoes the new shoes . Then the father replies that Yao Ming didn’t simply the shoes. Rater, there must be wear. The son knows his father means things like hard work and dedication. Finally the father asks the son to focus/concentrate on his studies and forget about the shoes. UNIT FIVE After David gave his mom a dog as a birthday present, she was very pleased, for the dog licked her hand and wagged its tail. She called it Brian after one of her friends. Mary read an article which says that dogs can be faithful to their owners/masters. David agreed, for he saw a TV interview which introduced a dog that could warn its master of an epileptic attack. He explained that this ability of the dog’s has something to do with its keen sense of smell.
