Are people motivated to achieve by personal satisfaction rather than by money or fame？ Whenever it comes to whether it is the personal satisfaction or the money and fame that is the motivation for people to achieve something， I always believe that the former one， through giving and providing one's great efforts has a more rewarding outcome than gaining money of fame。 This point can be strongly supported by many public examples known to our society both at home and abroad。 GuoMingyi， one of the top ten people who moved China in 2010, is a “celebrity" who said no one was happier than him in the world。 Some foreigners who are not very familiar with him might have thought that he is a millionaire or a famous person. However, he is not。 On the contrary, he is as bare as the back as one’s hand。 But how could he be so satisfied with his life with his a little salary? Now here are two stories of him. The first one is that he supported 157 students who couldn’t afford their studies to continue their education for ten years without stop by using totally 120.000 RMB which was raised from his own salary. The second story is that he volunteered to donate his blood to the society， the amount of which is almost 10 times as much as his own blood without accepting anything. So he is a great person who cares little about money and fame and obviously what he pursues is personal satisfaction. To me people who don’t think of what benefits or money they receive are truly the ones obtaining the most righteous self—achievement and these people are gaining the happiness and fulfillment that even the richest or the most famous people are looking forward to. There is another evidence from a survey made by Chicago University. The research aims to draw a conclusion what kind of people in the society feel more satisfied and fulfilled. 200 are questionnaired， half of whom are form the people who are considered to be the richest and the most famous and the other 100 are from the average family or even below the average。 The result is beyond expectation： only 33% of the people who were from the upper class said they are satisfied with their life and the rest said they were anxious about their life, their jobs and so on。 However， 78％ of the people whose income is of average or below expressed their satisfaction about their situation. They said their motivation of life is their children, their parents and their freedom.
