A letter to myself 20 years from now Dear Jonathan: The weather today is rainy, and I am writing this letter to you, dear me twenty years later. I wonder where are you now, what are you doing and whom are you live with. Maybe you also want to know what I am doing now? Do you remember? Twenty years ago, you achieved the whole family’s dream, becoming a student of a key university. However, the road to success was not smooth because you were born in an unwealthy family in a small village. How many times when you were almost unable to afford the tuition, it was so many kind persons in the society that reach out their hands to you, giving you a chance to fight for your dream. As a twenty-year-old young man, I am firmly convinced that as long as you have dream, the world won’t let you down. By the time you read this letter, you will be 40 years old, an age which is considered as the most charming for a man. At that time, you must have been a successful businessman. You must have earned a lot of money, owning a big house with a beautiful garden, and live a comfortable life with your family. I really hope you have become an attractive man not just because your age and success in business, but also you have a heart of gratitude. You won’t forget the help from others when you were in your most rough time. Therefore, you will make contribution to the society by assisting those children in mountain areas, helping those poor students in the school, donating money to those unfortunate families to improve their life. Dear me, I hope you still remember your favorite sentence: it is the best of times. Please don’t forget what you want to get from the world and what you had received from the world.
