Dragon Boat Festival This festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, which usually falls in June. It commemorates the patriotic poet Qu Yuan, who committed suicide by jumping into a river to protest against a corrupt government. People participate in dragon boat races, eat sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves, and drink realgar wine to ward off evil. 4. Mid-Autumn Festival Also known as the Moon Festival, this festival falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, usually in September. People celebrate the harvest season by eating mooncakes, admiring the full moon, and playing with lanterns. It's also a time for family reunions.
