This showcases her courage and self-respect, which are admirable qualities that we can all learn from. One of the most powerful aspects of this novel is its portrayal of the limited roles and opportunities available to women during this time period. Jane’s passion for learning and desire to become independent and self-sufficient goes against the norms of society, and constantly earns her disapproval and criticism from those around her. However, she remains determined and never gives up on her dreams. Her determination and unwavering spirit are a reminder of the power of resilience and determination. Another theme that is explored in the novel is the importance of family and love. Despite being an orphan, Jane places a great value on her relationships with those around her. Her love for her friend Helen and her eventual reconciliation with her long-lost cousin St. John illustrate the significance of familial bonds and the importance of forgiveness and reconciliation in our lives.
