Unit4 Seeing the doctor第一课时

教学目标:

By the end of the lesson, the students would be able to:

1. understand the text and find out how to communicate with doctors through watching the video

and reading the story;

2. get to know the meaning of " have a rest, take medicine, before bedtime, dentist, toothache, check, brush one’s teeth" and pronounce them clearly; 3. use the sentence structure “What’s wrong with you? You should /shouldn’t ... " to talk about illness and advice

4. get to know about how to see the doctor and give suggestions to others. 教材分析(含重、难点)

The students have learned some phrases and sentences about illness in Grade Four. In this period, they will know about how to see the doctor and try to use the sentence structures in real situations. And also they will learn how to give suggestions with “should” and “shouldn’t”. Focus of the lesson

1. Understanding the dialogue as a whole; 2. Talking with the doctors. Predicted area of difficulty

1. Pronouncing the words like “medicine, toothache”;

2. Understanding and using “should, shouldn’t” to give suggestions. 教学准备:AB练习纸,单词卡片,PPT 教学过程:

Step 1. Lead-in and learning.

1. Play the video about illness the students have learnt before. What can you know from the video? (课件示句型…is …… has a …) 2. Present a brain storm.

Help the students think and say.

They are all ill. Can you think more words about “illness”? (课件出示头脑风暴的页面,学生若说

Teach the new phrases 学生说到就教,没说到就暂时不教 Step 2. Discussing and watching.

1. Present the picture of Su Hai and Mike in the hospital. Show the task

If you are ill, you should see the doctor and take medicine. Today Su Hai and Mike are ill. They see the doctors. (贴板书课题,课件出现两人) Whats wrong with them? which room should they go? Lets be the nurse, try to help them. Please work in pairs, try to guess and act.(课件上逐渐出现四个门,导医台和句型)

Know about the students’ choices. 3.Play the video and present the right choices. Lets watch the video and judge.(放动画)

Whats wrong with them? Do you know now? (课件中句子挖空) Su Hai has She goes to Mike has a He goes to see the dentist. The doctor who helps you with your teeth, you can call him dentist.

Step3. Understanding and reading. 1. Show the Jigsaw reading.

Ask each group to read and underline.

They go to the different rooms to see the doctors. The doctors help them. What should Su Hai and Mike do? Now please look here. (课件示任务) Read your paper and try to know about them. Group A, read about Mike, Group B, read about Su Hai. And please underline the doctors advice. Help students to read.
