《雾都孤儿》读后感英文，500字 Reading “Oliver Twist” had an immense impact on me. It was a heartbreaking story of an orphaned boy’s journey to make a living in the mean streets of London. I was inspired by Oliver’s courage and determination in the face of extreme poverty and danger. He showed a remarkable resilience in the face of violence and injustice, without ever losing his compassion for others. Watching Oliver struggle for a true home and family moved me deeply and made me think about the social issues faced by the lower class in 19th century England. The novel also highlighted how life could be so different for people depending on their social status. The contrast between the wealthy upper-class and the poverty-stricken lower-class was especially striking. It was a reminder of the power of money and social connections, and the injustices that can occur when these privileges are absent. Although much of the novel was depressing, it did provide a glimmer of hope. This came in the form of Mr. Brownlow, an old friend of Oliver’s deceased father. His kindness and generosity ultimately gave Oliver the chance of a better life. Overall, “Oliver Twist” was an eye-opening tale of the harsh realities of poverty and inequality. It showed the capacity of ordinary people to overcome adversity and cruelty. It also reminded me of the importance of compassion, no matter what our social status may be.
