Knowing that Mrs. Smith was afflicted with a heart trouble, great care was taken to break to her as gently as possible the news of her husband's death. 史密斯太太患有心脏病，所以需要非常小心地把她丈夫去世的消息尽可能温和地告诉她。 It was her sister Mary who told her, in broken sentences.
