How language affects cross-border E-commerce

There is no doubt about the importance of language to cross-border e-commerce. The first step to contact international customers is to do business in their native language. According to consumers' buying habits, customers are more inclined to buy products on platforms established in their own language, even if they know English. Of course, most shopping platforms have local language shopping websites.

The most common non English languages are Spanish, Korean, Japanese, French and Chinese. In order to facilitate the communication between people in different languages, many countries will have a second language. In order to reduce the influence of language on trade, the following methods have been developed

First, cross border e-commerce will reduce trade barriers by establishing multilingual websites. For example, the homepage, marketing and brand pages and product information pages can be translated in multiple languages, while some non core pages can be translated in one language. Second, processing language display is also a good choice for cross-border e-commerce. Guide visitors to web pages or create versions of sites and locations by using information in the default language. Third, localization of web pages. 我认为戴尔公司在这方面做得很好,戴尔进入中国后就采取本地化的策略,在一些营销和品牌页面上以及产品信息页上都用的是汉语。它的界面上也可以通过设置默认语言来切换中文和英文来让顾客选择他们喜欢的语言。
