My family My name is Lucy. I’m eleven years old. I’m tall. There are four people in my family: my father, my mother, my brother and I. My father is a worker. He works in a factory. He works from Monday to Friday. He is strong and brave. My mother is a housewife. She is not strong but short. She works at home. She washes clothes, cleans the house and cooks dinner for us, she can cook a lot of nice food. We all like her. My brother is fifteen years old. He studies in a middle school. He can play basketball very well. He and I often go to play basketball after school. We live a happy life. I love my family. My school My school is very beautiful. It is in Changzhou, near the Yancheng Park. I like my school very much. There is a big gymnasium in my school. We usually have P.E. class in the gymnasium and we often play sports in it, too. Our teaching building has five floors. My classroom is on the third floor. It is big and clean. The computer rooms are on the fifth floor. In my school, there is a big library. There are many books in the library. I often read books there. There are some gardens between the teaching buildings. In spring, trees turn green and flowers turn colorful. The teachers in my school are very kind. The students are very polite and smart. I am happy in my school. My House I have s house. It is big and new. There are five rooms in it. They are a living-room, a kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom. There is a big glass on wall in the living room. A sofa is below the glass. There is a black TV across from the glass. There is a table in front of the sofa, it’s square. We often watch TV in the living room. There is a big table in the kitchen. It’s circle. There are four chairs around the table. We eat breakfast, lunch and supper in the kitchen. IN my bedroom, there is a map of China on the wall. There is a bed in front of the map. My desk is beside the bed. There is a little lamp on the able, it’s blue. I do my homework in my bedroom. This is my parent’s bedroom. There is a yellow bed in it. There is a table beside the bed. My father put a clock on it. Our bathroom is small. When you walk to the bathroom, you can see a bathtub first. The sink and the toilet are in front of it. There is a shower above the bathtub, it is always hot. I love my house. My weekend I think everyone enjoys the weekend so much. Now, let me introduce my busy weekend to you. On Saturday morning, I always go to the bookstore. The store is near my home, so I always go there by bike or on foot. I often buy some useful books in the store. I like reading different books. They are very interesting. On Sunday morning, I often stay home and do my homework. Now I am in Grade Five and I want to enter a good middle school this year. So I must work hard. In the afternoon, I sometimes go out with my parents or friends. We may go shopping or watch a film together. I usually have a lot of fun with them. On Sunday evening, I usually go to bed early. My favourite festival My favourite festival is the Spring Festival. Why? Because I have lots of fun at the Spring Festival. The Spring Festival is a popular holiday in our country. It is in January or February. Our family get together. We have a big dinner at my grandparents’ home. I always eat a lot of delicious food. My cousin and me both get red packets from our grandparents. My parents usually go shopping with me. We buy some nice clothes for ourselves. We often watch TV at home and sometimes read books or surf the Internet. Sometimes, we greet other people on the phone. I’m always happy at the Spring Festival. Hobbies1 All of us have hobbies. I have many hobbies, such as reading, writing, singing, drawing, watching TV and doing exercise. I think hobbies can make my life colorful. And I can make friends easier, because we have common interests and we have many things to talk about. Also, hobbies can bring knowledge to me. For example, reading is good way to get knowledge. I cannot learn all from class, so reading can bring me other knowledge. Singing and drawing are skills. They can help me to improve myself. Hobbies bring me happiness.
