1. Title M2 Unit4 Lesson1<Tomorrow’s World>

General introductionThis lesson is taken from a book of New Senior English for China by

Beijing Normal University. This lesson is about the reading part. By learning this passage, the students

can master some language points and skills, as well as some life guides.

2.Teaching aims and demands

(1).knowledge objects

1).Vocabulary: affect, rapidly, growth, pessimistic, hacker, optimistic, crime, criminal, terror, attack, chaos, crash, offer, entertainment, disappear, harm, obvious, destruction. 2) 2).Phrase: come into effect, putinto effect, cause and effect, offer sb. something/offer sth. To sb., be going to continue, be pessimistic/optimistic about, make sth. crash, a+adj.+growth in.

3).grammar: Predictions will(expresses our opinions and beliefs about the future.) and be going to(talks about a future event we can predict from a present situation). (2).Ability objects

1).Listening skills understand the teacher's saying.

2).Reading skills general understandingdetail information

3).Speaking skills use the new expressions to discuss: Do you feel pessimistic or optimistic about the future of the Internet? Why?

4).writing skillswrite a short passage on the topic with new expressions (3).emotion objects

The internet is a two-side sword. We should take the advantage of the internet to help improve our lives. We should try our best to prevent internet crimes and negative effects it can make. As a student, he or she should develop healthy and efficient habits when surfing the Internet.

3 .Teaching keys and difficulties

Predictions will(expresses our opinions and beliefs about the future.) and be going to(talks about a future event we can predict from a present situation).

7. Teaching procedures


General introduction: Step1 is for lead-in. Step2, 3 is for reading and listening skills objectives; Step4 is for knowledge objectives; Step5 is for speaking skills objectives and emotion objectives; Step6, 7 is for consolidation of new knowledge and practice students writing skills. Thus we can meet all the teaching demands.

Step1 Greetings. Revision and smoothly start the new lesson (2 minutes)

Step2 Fast-reading and search for the answer for "T" or "F" questions, general understanding. (8minutes). The author is pessimistic about the future of cyberspace, T or F?, Australian expert Peter Anderson believes that people will live and work in a virtual world in the future. T or F Step3 Detailed reading

Look for the information needed for the questions. Improve Ss ability to get detail information. (9minutes) According to the passage, why are some experts pessimistic about the future? Many people are optimistic about the future of the internet. Why?

Step4 Explain difficult sentences and use of new phrases in detail with the help of some teaching equipments.(10minutes) Step5 Task-based discussion(10minutes)

Discuss in group about Do you feel pessimistic or optimistic about the future of the Internet and why?, use some of the new phrases and words learned today.

Step6 Summary of the lesson ,with related exercises. Mention the emotional objects.(5minutes)

Step7 Homework1minute.

(1).Do exercise 23in the exercise book. This is used to make the students have a further understanding of new words and new grammars.

(2).write a short passage and describe what the cyberspace will do in the future. Use new words and phrases learned today.(at least 100 words)

8. Blackboard design

(1). In order to make the blackboard design clearly and neatly, I will divide the blackboard into

three parts. On the left, I’ll write teaching aims; in the middle of the blackboard, there should be important and difficult language points, and on the right, I will write the summary of this whole class.
