（Auguste Rodin1840～1917） Auguste Rodin (/oʊˈɡuːst roʊˈdæn/), was a French sculptor. Rodin was born in 1840 into a working-class family in Paris. He was largely self-educated,[3] and began to draw at age ten. He likes art very much but he was not good at other subjects at all. With the support of his sister, Marry, his father had to send him to Paris Art Polytechnic School. When he was 14, he started to learn sculpture. In 1875, he travelled and studied in Italy. Here are some pictures about his works. Sculpturally, Rodin possessed a unique ability to model a complex, turbulent混乱的, deeply pocketed小型的 surface in clay粘土. Rodin's most original work departed from traditional themes of mythology神话学 and allegory寓言,and modeled the human body with realism, and celebrated individual character and physicality肉体性. Rodin was sensitive to the controversy surrounding his work, but refused to change his style. His sculptures suffered a decline in popularity after his death in 1917, but within a few decades, his legacy遗产 solidified稳固.
