A Farewell to a Friend

李白 Li Bai

青山横北郭，白水绕东城。

Green mountains lie in the north of the wall, and the shining

water embraces the eastern town. 此地一为别，孤蓬万里征。

Here we say farewells to each other, while you will travel thousands of miles away like the bitter fleabane in the wind.

浮云游子意，落日故人情。

Wanderer mind seems floating clouds, and sunset afterglow is

like inseparable friendship. 挥手自兹去，萧萧班马鸣。

Here we wave farewell to each other, and our horses neigh for

departure.
