Good morning! My respected judges! My number is --. It is my great honor to be here sharing my lesson with you today.

The teaching material I choose to illustrate is unit5 Part B lets talk in the PEP Primary English Students’ Book . My teaching plan will include the following parts: the analysis of teaching material, teaching methods, studying methods and teaching procedure.

Part 1 Analysis of teaching material

This unit introduces and develops the theme of “shopping”, Students are expected to master the new word sneakers and use the sentence patterns in proper situation, such as What size? How much are they?” ”Well take them. By study of this unit, the students know how to ask the price in English and how to describe the size and price with simple words and sentences. The study of this lesson will help the students with daily communication.

Therefore, on studying the teaching material and regulation of the students growing of mind, I put forward the teaching objectives according to the New English Lesson Standard. 1. Reception objective

a) Students can hear, read and use the main sentence patterns. A pair of for…” How much are they?

b) Students can understand and read the conversation. 2. Ability objective

a) Students can use the sentence pattern of inquiring the price.

b) Students can use the patterns to express their thoughts in the proper scene. 3. Moral objective

a) Students can increase their interests and set up their self-confidence in language study. b) Students can have the consciousness of good cooperation and proper competition. Next, the key points of this lesson.

First of all, study and use the sentence patterns what size? How much are they? Secondly, understand the context, read and play the context.

Difficult points

a) Help Ss read and play the dialogue fluently. b) Train the students abilities of cooperation.

Part 2 Teaching methods

Well, how to achieve the teaching objectives better, stress the important points and break through the difficult points? The key is to make use of the proper teaching methods. Then I’ll talk about my teaching methods below.

As we all know, the main instructional aims of learning English in primary school is to cultivate pupils basic abilities of listening, hearing and their good sense of the English language.

Ss are expected to learn in real situation, so I will use some pictures, cards and body language to help them get a better understanding of the content. A tape recorder and multi-media computer will help me to achieve the aims.

The Task-based teaching method, Communcative teaching method and Group cooperation teaching method will be used in this period.

Part 3 Studying methods

Let students study in a relaxed atmosphere. Students understand the new knowledge

through the mental process of seeing, hearing, observing, imagining and thinking. After feeling and comprehending the language, let the students obtain the knowledge by probe study and cooperative study. Therefore, it can develop the students abilities of studying and working with the learning language.

Part 4 Teaching procedure

In order to realize the teaching procedure properly and efficiently, and under the principle of ‘student centered’, I divide the teaching procedure into 5 steps:

Step 1 Lead-in

I will play an English song for Students and have a free talk related to this period with them.

Purpose: it can attract Studentsattention and make them feel pleased and satisfied. In addition, it can also conduct a thick atmosphere of English learning.

Step 2 Presentation

1. As we all know, the substance of English is communication and the environment of communication is life. So before I present the dialogue, I’ll create a real situation for Ss to speak English freely and happily.

Purpose: This task will arouse Students’ interest and encourage them to ask questions with new knowledge.

2. At this time, John and his mother come to the store.

a) Let the students know the text contents with the help of multi-media computer which caters to the characteristics of primary period to be curious and pursuing interest and freshness.

b) Play the recorder again, let the students concentrate on listening, then answer my question according to the dialogue. Students are expected to answer some questions related to the new words. In this way, new words are taught.

Meanwhile, I’ll write down the sentence patterns on the blackboard. Students need to practice the new words and sentences in different ways.

Step 3 Practice

I’ll ask the students to listen to the tape and encourage them to imitate to read and say. They will read in roles, then try to recite the text. Guide them pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.

Purpose: It can train Students’ abilities of listening and speaking and their good sense of English language.

Step 4 Consolidation

There are lots of ways to consolidate the new knowledge, playing game is a good way. I will classify the class into four groups and then I will read the dialogue. During my reading, I’ll misread three words on purpose. After my reading, the students are asked to point out my mistakes. The group who answers right will get a star.

Purpose: this task can arouse Students’ interest. It can also develop their ability of cooperation.

Step 5 Extention

In this part, I’ll encourage Ss to use what they have learnt in class to communicate with each other in real life. This will also be as their homework.

As for the blackboard, it’s mainly about the new words and sentence patterns.

In a word, the teaching of this lesson aims to develop not only the students language technical abilities, but also the diverse intelligence by integrated teaching methods. By this design, I believe the students can acquire new knowledge in a pleased atmosphere, and their abilities and skills will be well trained.
