注意 come up“被提出”,不用于被动语态

come up with“提出”,及物动词短语,须接宾语或用于被动语态 eg. The doctor came up with a cure for the disease. A cure for the disease came up at the meeting. A cure for the disease was come up with at the meeting.

3.base v. 意为“以„„为根据, 把基础设在„„”, n. 基部;基地;基础 常构成短语 base sth. on/upon sth。以„„基础 be based on base sth. in 以„„为据点(以„„为总部);总部设在„„ the base of a column/ glass/pyramid 基柱/玻璃杯底/金字塔底座 a naval / military base 海军/军事基地 翻译句子

①.我们应该把理论建立在事实的基础之上。We should ________our theory _______facts. ②.They decided to_______ their company ____ shanghai.他们决定把公司总部建在上海。

提示:base ...on ...短语中,base为及物动词,base后应有宾语,否则base应用被动形式,即be based on结构。



eg.The film is_based_on a novel by Luxun.这部电影取材于鲁迅的小说。

[典例]

1). The mountain bike is a birthday present from my parents.这辆山地自行车是父母给我的生日礼物。

at present=at the present time=now 目前,现在 be present at 出席;到场(反义: be absent from) present sb.with sth = present sth. to sb.把某物送给某人

e.g: All the people ________________ (出席晚会的)were her supporters. 5. make use of 利用 make good use of 好好利用

make full use of 充分利用 make the best/most (use) of 充分利用 eg.1You must make use of every chance to practice English. 2The Internet resources should be made full use of.

make up make up of be made of, be made from

6. such as 用于列举事物时常放在所列举事物与前面的名词之间,且其后不用逗号,直接跟所列举的事物,可与 like互换。它所列举的事物的数量不能等同于前面所提的事物的总和,否则就用 that is namely

for example 主要用于举例说明,其前后多用符号隔开。其位置比较灵活,可位于句首、句中或句末(such as只能位于所列举的事物之前)

that is 相当于 namely,它所列举的事物的总量等于前面所提到的事物的总和。

and so on 对几个事物进行列举时,在说了其中的几个以后,用...and so on进行概括,说明还有例子,但不一一列出了。

request sth of / from sb. 向某人)请求某物

request sb. to do sth. 请求某人做某事 request that „„ ( should ) + do „„ 请求

at one’s request=at the request of sb 应某人的请求 in great request 急需 ① These materials are in great request.急需这些材料。 I request (of him) that he shouldleave.我要求他离开。
