Culture Also Speaks Good morning/afternoon, dear teachers and classmates, It is my great pleasure to be here to talk about our Chinese culture. First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Anna. I am in Grade Two from Class 14. Today my topic is “Culture Also Speaks”. Now I want to share a story with you. When I was in kinder-garden, my parents took me to the Great Wall in Beijing. I now it is the capital of my motherland, but it was the first time I went to Beijing. As they always say, “You are not a real hero if you don’t go to the Great Wall.” I had always wanted to be there to see the beautiful and famous sight. The day when I arrived there, there were so many people. It was very crowded because there were visitors from all over the world. I felt very tired when going up the stairs, but when I reached the very top of the Wall, I didn’t feel tired anymore. As I saw the blue sky and the long city wall, I finally realized how beautiful China-my motherland is. Later, my also took me to many other famous places like the West Lake, the Imperial Palace and other places of interest. From the TV and Internet, I’ve taste the charm of those amazing natural or man-made views. But I’ve also realized that these sights are not simply beautiful views, but really is the symbol of Chinese culture that speaks out Chinese stories to foreign visitors. If not, why there are so many foreigners coming to China to have a look at and become surprised at Chinese culture. This is China, a country with years of history that attracts attention from the whole world. Each place has its own fruits. Influenced by the beautiful natural environment and the long history, China has always been making great efforts to develop. Starting from a poor and weak situation, just after 70 years of development, China becomes the second largest economy in the world. People’s living standards have been greatly improved. But you know what? Culture plays an important role in the process of development. This year, the pandemic seriously hit China. However, with efforts Chinese people made it. Now we can enjoy the free breath of air. Without the strong determination, we cannot taste the fruit of victory; without the Chinese culture, China will not stay strong in the world stage. In my mind, culture is the most important thing for a nation. Culture is not something concrete; culture is the beautiful scenery that we visit; culture is the spirit that motivates we Chinese go on for a better tomorrow. Beautiful views will continue to show more cultural treasures to the world, and Chinese people will continue to tell more Chinese stories to the world.
