The Very Hungry Caterpillar

1.In the light of the moon a little egg lay on a leaf.

2.One Sunday morning the warm sun came up and pop! Out of the egg came a tiny and very hungry caterpillar.

3.He started to look for some food.

4.On Monday he ate through one apple. But he was still hungry. 5.On Tuesday he ate through two pears, but he was still hungry. 6.On Wednesday he ate through three plums, but he was still hungry.

7.On Thursday he ate through four strawberries, but he was still hungry. 8.On Friday he ate through five oranges, but he was still hungry.

9.On Saturday he ate through one piece of chocolate cake, one ice-cream cone, one pickle, one slice of Swiss cheese, one slice of salami, one lollipop, one piece of cherry pie, one sausage, one cupcake, and one slice of watermelon. 星期六,他吃了好多好多……蛋糕,冰淇淋,黄瓜,瑞士奶酪,香肠,棒棒 糖,馅饼,热狗,杯子蛋糕,还有西瓜! 10.That night he had a stomach-ache!

11. The next day was Sunday again. The caterpillar ate through one nice green leaf, and after that he felt much better.

12.Now he wasn’t hungry anymore -- and he wasn’t a little caterpillar anymore. He was a big, fat caterpillar.

13.He built a small house, called a cocoon, around himself. He stayed inside for more than two weeks. Then he nibbled a hole in the cocoon, pushed his way out…. 14.He became a beautiful butterfly! Clouds

1.“Look at the cloud,”said Kate. “It looks like a bird.” 2.“I see a cloud,”Tony said. “It looks like a cat.”

3.“Look at the big cloud,”said Kate. “That one looks like a car.” 4.Tony said, “I see a big cloud. It looks like a horse.” 5.Kate said, “The cloud looks like a big house. Look at it.” 6.Tony said, “I see a big cloud. It looks like a rabbit.” 7.Kate said, “Look. The big cloud looks like a hat.”

8.“Look at the cloud,”said Tony. “It looks like my bear!” the Lion and the Mouse

1.One day, a Lion was taking a nap. Soon, a little Mouse came running by. He was in a hurry to get home. The Mouse did not see the Lion. So he ran right over the Lion’s nose!

2.The Lion woke up with a loud roar. He grabbed the little Mouse with his big paw. “I’M GOING TO EAT YOU!”roared the lion.“YOU WOKE ME UP!” The Lion opened his big jaws. He was going to eat the little Mouse! “Dear Lion, please do not eat me!” said the Mouse. “I did not mean to wake you up. Please let me go!”

3.The little Mouse kept talking and begging. “Dear Lion, please, please let me


go!If you do, maybe one day I will help you.” The Lion laughed at the little Mouse. He laughed so hard that he could not stop. “You think you can help me?”he asked.“How could a little Mouse ever help me?”

4.“What a funny little Mouse you are!” said the Lion. “I think I will let you go.I am not that hungry, anyway.” The little Mouse was so happy! He ran off to his home. “Thank you, dear Lion!”he called. But the Lion did not hear him. He was still laughing too hard!

5.A few days later, the Lion was out walking. Suddenly, a hunter’s net trapped him. He was caught. The Lion roared and tried to get free. But he was trapped! The little Mouse was close by. He was taking a nap. The Mouse woke up when he heard the Lion roar. “The Lion needs my help,”he said. So he went to find the Lion.

6.The little Mouse saw the Lion in the hunter’s net.“I will help you, dear Lion,”

he said. “Do not be silly, little Mouse,” said the Lion. “What can you do? No one can help me now!”“I can help you,” said the little Mouse. So the Mouse went to work.

7. He bit at the ropes with his little teeth. He bit and he chewed. He chewed and he bit. Then he bit and he chewed some more. It took the little Mouse a long time. But at last, the Lion was free! “How can I thank you?” asked the Lion. “What can I do for you?”

8.“Well, there is one thing,” said the Mouse. “I want to be your friend.”And so it was. The Lion and the Mouse became best friends. And the Lion learned this lesson:“A little friend can be the best friend of all!”
