教学目标:在本课结束后,学生能够:

1. 通过发现、比较,了解四种不同的构词法:派生法,合成法,转化法, 缩略法的基本原理和各自特点。

2. 通过观察、比较、举例等方式,发现词汇之间的关联性和共性,并从中加深对

构词法的理解,在语境中根据构词法的知识理解和使用更多的英语词汇,重视单词的积累,能更好的理解英语的语篇,进一步培养起对英语学习的兴趣及积极克服困难,面对挑战,求解决办法。

3. 能够综合运用不同的构词法帮助自己识记单词,提高记单词的效率

教学重点:通过发现、比较,了解四种不同的构词法:派生法,合成法,转化法,缩略法的基本原理和各自特点。

教学难点:能够在单句及语篇中根据构词法填出正确的单词,综合运用不同的构词法帮助自己识记单词,提高记单词的效率。

Lead-in



1. Teacher asks Students to retell the passage they have

learned in last class according to the following hints.

2. Teacher guides Students to realize we have rules to follow

when we learn English. We can understand more English words by word formation.

3. Teacher leads Students to have a general review of the four

types of word formation and how each type forms, and then give some easy examples. 1. Teacher asks Students to look at the sentences and

expressions from the reading passage. Match the words in bold to the types of word formation after a general review of word formation (Activity 1 on page 17).

2. Teacher asks Students to look for more examples of each

type in the reading passage and classify them into four groups.

3. Teacher encourages Students to finish the Activity 2 on

page 17 and think out what each paragraph talks about. 4. Teacher checks the answer and summarize the main idea of

each paragraph. 1.

Teacher leads students to summarize the main points of word formation and shows Students more examples of each type.

1. Teacher invites students to choose one type and come up

with as many words as possible to the given words (moon, like).

2. Teacher asks Students to consolidate the usage by filling

blanks. Option1. Complete the four exercises on the work sheet.

Option2. Give more words of each type of word formation referring to the dictionary and the Internet.

Option3. Find the meanings and examples of more prefixes and suffixes and form mind maps of them.
