山是世界文化与自然遗产、世界地质公园、世界生物圈保护区,是国家级风景名胜区、全国文明风景旅游区、国家5A级旅游景区,与长江、长城、黄河同为中华壮丽山河和灿烂文化的杰出代表,被世人誉为人间仙境天下第一奇山,素以奇松、怪石、云海、温泉、冬雪五绝著称于世。境内群峰竞秀,怪石林立,有千米以上高峰88座,莲花光明顶天都三大主峰,海拔均逾1800米。明代大旅行家徐霞客曾两次登临黄山,赞叹道:薄海内外无如徽之黄山,登黄山天下无山,观止矣!后人据此概括为五岳归来不看山,黄山归来不看岳

黄山雄踞于安徽南部黄山市境内,山境南北长约40千米,东西宽约30千米,总面1200160.6118°01'—118°17',北纬30°01'—30°18',东起黄狮 ,西至小岭脚,北始二龙桥,南达汤口镇,分为温泉、云谷、玉屏、北海、松谷、钓桥、浮溪、洋湖、福固九个管理区。

黄山原名黟山,因峰岩青黑,遥望苍黛而得名。传说轩辕黄帝曾在此采药炼丹,得道成仙。唐玄宗笃信道教,遂于天宝六年(公元747年)诏改黟山为黄山,黄山之名于是一直沿用至今。千余年来,黄山积淀了浓郁的黄帝文化,轩辕峰、炼丹峰、容成峰、浮丘峰、丹井、洗药溪、晒药台等景名都与黄帝有关。

黄山集八亿年地质史于一身,融峰林地貌、冰川遗迹于一体,兼有花岗岩造型石、花岗岩洞室、泉潭溪瀑等丰富而典型的地质景观。前山岩体节理稀疏,多球状风化,山体浑厚壮观;后山岩体节理稠密,多柱状风化,山体峻峭,形成了前山雄伟、后山秀丽的地貌特征。

1982年,黄山风景区被国务院公布为首批国家级重点风景名胜区。 1985年,黄山风景区被中国旅游报公布为中国十大风景名胜区之一。199012月,黄山被联合国教科文组织列入《世界文化与自然遗产名录》20042月,黄山被联合国教科文组织公布为世界地质公园。

Huangshan is a world cultural and natural Heritage site, a world geological park and a world biosphere reserve. It is a national scenic spot, a national civilized scenic spot and a national 5A tourist attraction. Together with the Yangtze River, the Great Wall and the Yellow River, it is an outstanding representative of the magnificent mountains and splendid cultures in China. It is known as the five wonders of the world, such as strange pines, strange rocks, sea of clouds, hot springs and winter snow. Within the territory of the peak competition show, strange stones stand in abundance, there are more than a kilometer peak 88, "lotus", "bright top", "day" three main peaks, the altitude is more than 1800 meters. Xu Xiake, a great traveler in the Ming Dynasty, had visited Huangshan twice. He marveled, "Only a view of the Mount Huangshan without such a badge at home and abroad." Later generations summarized as "the five mountains return not to see the mountain, Huangshan return not to see the mountain".

Huangshan Mountain is located in Huangshan City in the south of Anhui Province. It is about 40 kilometers long from north to south and 30 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of about 1200 square kilometers. Among them, Huangshan scenic area of 160.6 square kilometers, the east longitude 118°01' -- 118°17', north latitude 30°01' -- 30°18', east from Huangshi, west to Xiaolingjiao, north beginning Erlong Bridge, south to Tangkou Town, divided into hot spring, Yungu, Yuping, Beihai, Songgu, Jiaoqiao, Fuxi, Yanghu, Fugu nine management areas.

Huangshan Mountain, formerly known as Yi Mountain, is named for its black peak rock and its distant Cangdai. Legend has it that Regulus Huangdi once gathered herbs here and became immortal. Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty believed in Taoism, so he changed the mountain into Hoary mountain in the sixth year of Tianbao (AD 747), and the name of Huangshan has been used up to now. For more than a thousand years, Huangshan has accumulated a strong culture of the Yellow Emperor. Xuanyuan Peak, Liandan Peak, Rongcheng Peak, Fuqiu peak, Danjing, washing medicine Stream, drying medicine platform and other scenic names are associated with the Yellow Emperor. Mount Huangshan has a geological history of 800 million years, integrating peak forest landforms and glacial remains into one, as well as rich and typical geological landscapes such as granite molding stones, granite caves, springs, pools, streams and waterfalls. Qianshan rock joint sparse, spherical weathering, the mountain thick spectacular; Back mountain rock joint dense, multi columnar weathering, the mountain craggy, formed the "front mountain majestic, back mountain beautiful" geomorphic features.

In 1982, Huangshan Scenic Area was announced by The State Council as one of the first national-level key scenic spots. In 1985, Huangshan Scenic Area was listed as one of China's top 10 scenic spots by China Tourism News. In December 1990, the Yellow Mountain was inscribed on UNESCO's World Cultural and Natural Heritage List. In February 2004, Huangshan was declared a World geopark by UNESCO.
