Try to be the little prince in spirit In the autumn this year, I read the masterwork of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, named The Little Prince. Reading such a spelling book not only improves my English to some extent, but also acquaints me with a large amount of life philosophy which explicitly illuminates my road towards future. Children’ s lives are always innocent and simple. They keep on looking for something of great significance, which seems stupid and meaningless for adults. Only children know what they are looking for. They waste their time over a rag doll and it becomes very important to them; and if anybody takes it away from them, they cry… No grown-ups will ever understand that this is a matter of so much importance! The apparent difference between children and adults really drags me to the deeper thinking. Every adult had been a child, had been innocent and simple. Nevertheless, with age, they gradually accumulate numerous experiences and accordingly have the scruples. What’ s more, their ambitions become increasingly unbounded. They endlessly chase for things like wealth, beauty, status, dignity, fame and so on. Trapped in material chains, they become hoggish and selfish. In the book, the little prince visited many planets. Surprisingly, every planet had strange people living on. A king, who was wild about ordering others, lived on the first planet, A conceited man lived on the second planet…They are all the symbols of adults. On the one hand, the book reminds us not to forget about simplicity. On the other hand, it clarifies the indispensable role of tameness as well as possession. Once, the little prince come across a stunningly beautiful garden abloom with countless roses. His flower had told him that she was only one of her kind in all universe. Confronted with fraud, he still loved his roses. Because he knew that It is the time he has wasted for his rose that makes his rose so vital. Everyday he watered it, elaborately made a screen and carefully placed her under the shelter of her glass globe. It all counted. Also, just as the fox said” The wheat fields have nothing to say to me. And that is sad. But you have hair that is the color of gold. Think how wonderful that will be when you have tamed me! The grain, which is also golden, will bring me back the thought of you. And I shall love to listen to the wind in the wheat.” Tameness and possession make one unique. In reality, we can see that more and more children are forced to study by their ambitious parents. Tragically, their childhoods are full of homework and ranking. Parents dominate the future for their children without considering their feelings. However, frankly speaking, a sign of whether a person is good or not is totally irrelevant to one’ s achievement. It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; What is essential is invisible to the eyes. As far as I am concerned, the priority to be a good person should be attached to kindness, trueness and happiness, which the little prince owns. All in all, hope everyone become the little prince in spirit!
